Home for the Holidays No.2: A Christmas Miracle

2018 - Wood Engraving on Cotton Paper - Image size: 7 x 7 inches - Paper size: 10 x 10 inches - Edition size: 8 - Based on a true story: the Thai eggplant in the manger represents our “miracle”, commemorating a family christmas gathering in Spokane WA when the artist’s brother-in-law remarked that they’d have better luck finding the baby Jesus than a Thai eggplant in the produce section of the local grocery store. The attending angel carries an Albertsons shopping bag. The wise men offer gifts of Thai basil and champagne.

2016 - Linocut on Kitakata Washi Paper - 8 x 10 inches - Edition size: 30 - This edition of prints was inspired by political events and the divided social atmosphere in the United States in late 2016. The artist inked the background block with blue ink, red ink, or these two inks mixed together to produce various purple shades, as she created this series. The print-to-print variation in color in this numbered series is indicated by “E.V.”, which stands for “Edition Variable”.
