artist’s statement: as my young niece grew into the world, i had a precious window looking onto some of the remarkable transitions that children undergo – often joyful, occasionally heartbreaking. this piece studies a two-year-old’s struggle to understand that her mother’s love will now be shared by two, following the arrival of her baby brother.
